After 4:30 p.m. SafeRide shifts focus toward safety.  The evening service reaches a broader area of the University campus  and is available to individuals with and without mobility impairments.   Safety transport is provided from 4:30 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. every evening.   Vehicles pick up individuals from the Atkins Library area, on the hour and half-hour.  Transport is provided to the outer areas of campus.  Requests for transportation to/from the center of campus, residence halls, parking decks and areas around the outer margins can be made by calling Campus Police dispatch at 704.687.2200.  

    SafeRide hours will sometimes be extended when the Atkins Library hours are extended.   SafeRide will not operate  when the University is closed for holidays or inclement weather.

      Safety transport responds to transport requests from any faculty, staff, student, or visitor on campus.   Safety transport does not replace the University shuttle, but is for use in conjunction with University Shuttle service.
